My daughter is turning 2 today! I can't believe so much time has passed. It justs seems like yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital. Here's to you my beautiful spirited Pixie Fiona................................

Sampler Afghan

This is the beginning of an afghan I am knitting for my in-laws. It is a sampler afghan knit up in a washable wool. I love being able to learn new stiches and patterns while knitting something so warm and cozy.

Bobbled hand warmers

These are some wonderful bobbled hand-warmers I knitted for my sister in law. The pattern is created by Kelsey Simila and is knitted up in a Noro yarn. I love making these, they are super simple and knit up very quick. Perfect for a last minute gift!

MR. Rowan sporting some fine knitwear

This piece was knitted for Rowan and given to him on his Birth-day.

It was from a pattern at garnstudio.com and knitted in an acrylic blend.

They were my first pair of overalls and were a pretty simple pattern knitted from the legs up. They turned out a bit wider and a bit shorter than I had anticipated but overall they look good.

Fiona's Birthday doll

This doll is my first attempt at making a handknit stuffed doll. It was a fairly easy pattern but took a long time because it was all knit in size 2 needles. I had trouble with knitting the feet and now that she is all stuffed it looks like she has 2 left feet. I guess she won't be a dancer :)

I will eventually knit the doll some clothes but for now will put on cloth doll clothes. This was a fun project and I am mostly happy with how it turned out. It was knit from the book "knitted Toys" by Fiona McTague in 100 percent cotton.

This sweater was knitted for and modeled by the ever famous Seamus. It was a gift for his second birthday. When I saw the pattern for a little/old man sweater I knew it would be perfect for this guy. It is knitted in Encore Gingko. Isn't he the perfect model for knitwear?

After this project I have decided never to do a sew together sweater again.

hippie Marley chick

Here is another hat I knit for a girlfriends kid. The pattern came from the itsy bitsy hat book and is done in a local hand dyed alpaca blend. Yes the pancho is adorable but i didn't knit it.

ear flap hat

This is an adorable earflap hat I made for a girlfriends son last winter. I got the pattern from itsy bitsy hats and knitted it up with jellybeanz a poly/nylon blend. I don't usually like knitting with the synthetic fibers but this wasn't to bad, plus it makes it machine washable. A big plus with the kiddos

Longies

These pants were my first pair of longies. They were knitted in baby alpaca from a pattern found on garnstudio.com

I knitted them last winter and made them big enough so they could be worn through several winters. The baby alpaca yarn makes them very soft, however the fuzzies get everywhere including her diaper. I probably won't use baby alpaca for a child's pattern again. But it was a fun project.

I finally did it

I am finally starting a knitting blog. I have been wanting a way to keep track of my knitting progress and creations. So Here I am!

I will post some older knitwear I have made. Most of my projects are centered around my two year old daughter. I started knitting when I was 16, stopped knitting when I was around 20 and picked it up again after my daughter was born at age 28. After drooling over beautiful and horribly overpriced knitted baby clothes I decided it was time to get my fingers back in the fiber. I hope to be posting frequently the next two months since I have lots of christmas projects to finish.
